Independence day (Święto Niepodległości)

Third of May Academy | Essendon
The School Division of the Victorian Federation and the Polish Educational Society of Victoria cordially invite all compatriots to celebrate the 235th anniversary of the May 3rd Constitution, which will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Polish Marian Shrine in Essendon. The ceremony will feature, among others, students from Polish schools and dancers from the “Polonez” Song and Dance Ensemble.

60th Anniversary History Exhibition and Poetry Afternoon
This event will open the jubilee month and provide an opportunity to honour the Polish Club, its dedicated volunteers, and the Polish community in Western Australia.
The Exhibition will be officially opened at 3:00 PM by our distinguished guest, Her Excellency Karolina Cemka, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Australia, together with a special guest from Poland, Mr Zbigniew Konwiński MP, Chairman of the Sejm Committee on Liaison with Poles Abroad.

Polish Easter Celebrations
In the Polish tradition on Holy Saturday artistically painted eggs and specially prepared baskets of food are blessed in the church. On the Resurrection Sunday after colourful procession which usually begins at dawn, the solemn Easter breakfast followed, which gathers the entire family. The Easter table is laid with the blessed food and with painted eggs, ham, veal, sausages, meat and a great number of cakes with an edible lamb, often made of pastry.
